This temporary pavilion is a sales, marketing and information hub for Brent Cross Town, a major new development in North London.

As the first building on the development site it will establish a benchmark of quality and statement of intent for the emerging masterplan as well as bridging between the new and existing communities.

The form of the building; a giant X, represents the arrival of the new development and the creation of a new neighbourhood. The demountable cross-laminated timber (CLT) structure will be clad in ceramic tiles made and decorated over the building’s lifespan by the project team, visitors and the local community in an vibrant, evolving representation of the stakeholders who have contributed to this new quarter of London. When the building is demounted, the ceramic tiles will become a permanent work of art within the new public realm marking the people who have realised the new development.
