Competition entry, shortlisted 2010

In 2010 the Architecture Foundation launched an international design competition to design an information pavilion for the 2012 Olympics. The kiosk will provide exhibition space, event information and shops for visitors arriving at the games. Our design, shortlisted from a hundred submissions, drew inspiration from the heritage of the East End and its relationship to the River Thames. The elegant flowing form of the river suggests movement and dynamism and calls to mind Olympic motifs such as banners, streamers and flags. The dynamic frontage echoes the movement of people between the bus station, train station, Olympic Site and Stratford.
