Cosway Street shortlisted for three awards

Posted on 2 September 2024

Cosway Street is a 49-home residential development arranged around a landscaped communal garden in Marylebone. It forms part of the first phase of Westminster City Council’s Church Street masterplan programme – one of the largest redevelopment projects currently taking shape in London. The sale of private homes is helping to cross-subsidise affordable homes and community infrastructure as part of the regeneration scheme.

The project showcases innovative solutions such as a cantilevered piling system to protect a nearby Bakerloo Line tunnel and the whole building sits on anti-vibration pads, mitigating the rumble from passing trains. The building facades and external walls were constructed offsite using precast components faced with brick. Eight panels were installed daily to significantly reduce build time and on-site disruption to the neighbourhood, and to ensure a high quality finish.
